A vintage French watercolor painting of what appears to be the shore of a beach, the sky merging with the sea in a pale blue haze to obscure any sense of time and place. Solid ground is implied by two rows of dark figures standing on the edge of an embankment–the more distinguished of the silhouetted characters wear hats and packs suggesting they are soldiers or other officials in uniform rather than there on holiday. The work has been recently framed in simple, silvergilt molding and Museum Glass–ready to hang in your interior by the attached sawtooth hanger on the back. Signed by the artist to the lower right.
