The table features a substantial oak top with a vise crank on sturdy square legs over a traditional trestle base with long stretchers, all of which can be disassembled for easy transport. Close up you can see the wonderful color variation in the wood, thick joints, and old hardware. Holes in the table were used by the carpenter to hold and adjust his work with the vise grip. No key is present. The pulls and the catch are more recently added. The two doors open to reveal two shelves that offer ample room for storage. Each side is also decorated with carved panels. The piece is raised on four sturdy square blocked feet. With its great proportions, clean lines, and warm walnut grain and patina, this French buffet will complement any room beautifully, from a dining area to an entryway.     A wonderful Swiss draw leaf table crafted during the 1830s from solid oak with an inset slate top. The stone top is perfect for a hot tea kettle or pot as it will not be damaged, making this a great serving or dining table. Inset slate tops were a common feature of Swiss tables as a lighter alternative to marble. The apron has a beautiful scalloped edge. Thick, splayed legs display great turned details and collect to a curvy X shaped stretcher. Raised on bun feet. The leaves easily pull out and bring the measurements to 28-¼”H x 106-¾”W. The top measures 82-¼”“H x 116-½“W x 18-¼”D and houses 5 finished adjustable shelves behind the original wavy glass doors. The interior depth is 12-½”. Each pair of doors contains a functioning lock. The bottom measures 39-⅝”H x 111-¼”W x 26-⅛”D and houses three drawers and two doored cavities with an interior depth of 21-⅜” . The drawers are seamless and flush without hardware and a functioning lock each. Within the rightmost drawer, four pre-sectioned spaces allow for nice organization. Each pair of doors contains a functioning lock and houses a single adjustable shelf. The whole sits flush to the ground on a plinth base. One key is included.     This newly composed pair of consoles were recently crafted from 19th Century iron panels from Europe and topped with a fabulous piece of charcoal stone with white veining. The iron was painted a vibrant green once and has gained a perfect patina. Their unique design and hooked tops indicated they were likely once part of a larger fence or gate. Centered between the hook forms is the unmistakable gorgon head depicting Medusa. We recommend placing this console inside or undercover. Sold as a pair only.
