A unique handcrafted beech work table from England, 19th century, its tactile patina would be an inspiring backdrop for any creative pursuit from artistic to culinary–perfect as an unexpected kitchen island. The surface area is composed of three irregular planks held in place with round dowels that punctuate the edges. Repetitive chop marks imprinted upon the weathered grain confirm the utilitarian function of the table for cooking preparation which has left a fascinating texture also dotted with tiny holes. Thick, square legs to support the mass and regular use are reinforced with an H-form stretcher. Gently cleaned and left in its current natural finish, this antique work table is ready to join your interior. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Very unique 19th century French table (circa 1840) designed to drain the whey and shape cheese into a wheel. Made of pine and oak, the rather primitive construction is what makes this piece so engaging and tactile for use as an unexpected side table. Aged to a dark patina, the wood reveals concentric rings in the shallow well of the circular top, dotted with small holes. Elevated on a tripod of three, roughly hewn legs. Gently cleaned with French paste wax to preserve all the historic character. We believe this to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. French 19th Century Beech Chopping Block

This chopping block of solid beech plank features an improvised handle of hand-carved, cylindrical dowel fixed to the top with a metal nail. Clear preference to use one side of the board is evidenced by a dense cluster of chop marks imprinted upon the surface. A unique 19th century butler’s pantry made in England circa 1860. Beautifully crafted of English pine, these Victorian era cupboards provide abundant storage with classic style. Featuring sets of three upper and lower cabinets with plenty of shelving, this pantry easily adapts to your needs. Hand-crafted with handsome crown molding and raised panel doors that showcase the hand painted finish and a well aged patina. The large cabinet doors open on steel hinges with both decorative metal drop and simply turned wooden pulls to reveal five shelves in the top cabinets and two large shelves in the bottom cabinets that provide excellent organized storage space. No key is present for locks with simple brass escutcheons on all six doors. This large storage piece would pair well with both a modern farmhouse or traditional decor and would be at home in the kitchen, living room or dining room as a conversation piece that brings both function and style to your interior. French 19th Century Pine Cheese Draining Board

A large early 19th century French cheese draining board, hand-crafted in France circa 1820. This solid pine board with a shallow rim along the edges was used to drain the whey from cheeses as they were processed. Featuring scrapes and markings from years of use, the gorgeous wood grain of the aged pine matches the beauty of the all over patina. A small timber crack can be seen on the surface. A perfectly provincial culinary antique that is still wonderfully functional. There is no evidence of the top being attached to a base. This might be so the board could be easily cleaned after use. A French terracotta olive oil/water jar from the 19th century, with wonderful glazes of vibrant orange and detailed cream and black decorations of fluid lines surrounding foliate designs. Hand-crafted in France circa 1850 this terracotta vessel has a circular opening on top with thick lip, a wide comfortable handle, frontal spout, and an adjacent wide molded handle. An all-over glaze is covered with charming hand painted designs and a wonderful patina. A 19th century Scandinavian cheese maker’s board hand-crafted from solid wood circa 1879. Genuine and rustic, this rectangular hollowed out, paddle shaped board was used for draining and separating the cheese and whey. Made of a solid plank of white pine. This board has a nice patina and is very tactile. In good antique condition with minimal wear. Inscribed into the wood on the reverse is the mark “D E L 1879” in fine script. Light in weight but sturdy and deep. This board would make a wonderful addition as a culinary antique or piece of folk art.
