OUR STORY
Fireside Antiques was founded in 1982 by Mother-Daughter duo Cheri McDaniel (1929 – 2023) & Susan Roland. Cheri was a pioneer building contractor using antique architectural elements as statements for her designs. Susan, an Interior Designer, who wanted to open a storefront offering European antique furniture. Our showroom is now an overflowing testament to our family’s continued love for sourcing the collection of antiques that grew into the thriving business it still is today.
Laura Roland, Susan’s daughter, began managing the business in 2010 as a Graduate of Savannah College of Art & Design. Now an ASID Licensed Interior Designer with unique knowledge & expertise in preserving the past of time-honored quality in lasting styles while meeting current trends. She is now third-generation owner & antiques dealer of this woman-owned legacy business in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

OUR PROCESS
Each year, Susan & Laura travel together to Europe on buying trips to hand-select our pieces from estates & markets across England, France, The Netherlands, Sweden, Italy, Spain & Portugal.
Once purchased, our antiques are transported to our European warehouses where each item is carefully packed into forty foot containers bound by ship to dock in New Orleans, Louisiana then trucked to Baton Rouge to be unloaded in our workshop.
Our experienced team of skilled craftsmen clean, repair, tighten & polish each piece. Following restoration, every antique is photographed, detailed descriptions are written with dimensions, then added to our showroom floor & categorized online where you can browse all of our available inventory updated daily on our website!
