  • French 20th Century Mahogany Game Table

    A versatile (and reversible) French mahogany game table from the early 1900s in the style of Louis XVI for a timeless look to suit a range of entertaining needs. There is an inset panel on the table’s upper surface that may be flipped over, on the one side is green felt trimmed in Greek-key gold tooling–ideal for playing cards or rolling dice–to the black leather surface on the opposite side. Two hidden leaves tucked into the table apron (just above the drawers) also feature leather surfaces to match. Lifting out the leather-felt panel entirely reveals a parquetry chessboard of 64 tiles alternating between mahogany and ash wood for graphic contrast. Ribbed brass accents protect the corners, transitioning into fluted, tapered legs. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, this metamorphic occasional table is ready to join your interior. Tucked away in the apron is the extension to provide cantilevered support for the tabletop when in use.   • French Louis XVI Style Inlay & Ebonized Game Table

    An elegant and refined Louis XVI style game table from 19th century France. This outstanding antique table can serve multiple roles: as a console, center or occasional table, but one of the many things that makes this table special is its ability to convert into a felt-topped game table. The shaped and impeccably inlaid top is hinged and will unfold to double in size and reveal a Kelly green playing surface, ideal for cards, dominoes and other games. When opened, the table has dimensions: 29 ½” H x 39 ¼” W x 42 ½” D. The table’s drawer opens to provide support for the top when laid open. When closed, it can be locked using the one key present. Inlaid brass and mother of pearl in a variety of motifs including birds, filigree, floral and foliate splays and flourishes and has been modified over time. Turned and tapered fluted legs are further ornamented by gilt brass and joined by a curved stretcher with decorative gilt brass urn finial.     A wonderfully unique game table crafted in 19th century France. Topped with a colorful piece of marble and surrounded by a cast brass pierced gallery. The apron houses two drawers and two slides with metal hardware to easily slide open. Both drink slides feature inset leather tops and bring the maximum width to 40”. A gorgeous, subtle inlay depicting flowers adorns the apron and drawer fronts. Square, tapered legs feature lovely inlay work as well and brass sabot feet for continued support. The game top is a separate piece that is placed atop the marble and fits within the brass gallery. The removable top is inset with a dark green leather on one side and also features a delicate inlay along the perimeter.     This Dutch game table/console is made of mahogany with impressive satinwood marquetry, circa 1795. When in demilune form the beautiful marquetry motifs of flowers, overflowing vase, swallows, and scrolling leaves is on full display. The detailed woodwork continues onto the apron and three front legs to appear intriguing from every angle. To fully extend, the back leg pulls out, revealing a storage drawer that functions as a support when the top is flipped open. The circular table top is covered in a rich leather that has been stamped with a continuous vine perimeter. Straight, tapered legs are fixed with metal sabot feet to protect the wood.
