A luxurious vintage French table lamp from circa 1930, carved from figured green onyx as a Neoclassical column adorned with the requisite brass fittings at the capital and base. The striking vintage lampshade is a most unusual shape: its square profile is concave on the sides and chamfered on the corners that shows off the alternating velvet and dupioni silk materials. Gold galloon (or galon) trim defines the top and bottom edges, with thin gold cord draped between the corners from which a small gold tassel hangs. A statement piece for any collector to illuminate a desk or side table, symbolising the worldly taste of the period, merging Empire grandeur with Bohemian decadence. French pair of 19th century milk glass oil lamps, converted to electric but retaining the wonderful pierced brass collar and keys that would have adjusted the flame. The glossy white glass has a beautiful translucency in any lighting condition, a slender neck (in the profile of Empire columns) widens into a bell at the base where the cord exits the back. New, conical white linen shades diffuse the light from medium-base bulbs with the switch on the sockets. A French Empire style carved marble table lamp featuring a visage of Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, to grace the urn of the lamp base. A new, neutral tone linen shade with pleating diffuses the light from a standard base Edison bulb, controlled by an on/off switch below the socket. Note the ivory-tone marble with gray veining remains quite luminous and smooth, although gently patinated with small chips. French 19th century Empire style cast bronze table lamp with new linen shade, converted from gas to electric. This substantial Neoclassical fixture has a Greco-Roman female figure for a base, elevating a large urn above her head from which the socket rises, diffusing the light under a rectangular linen shade. The pedestal is ebonized wood with faint craquelure and some patina. As a single lamp, this would work well in a variety of interiors and rooms such as for a desk lamp or on a side table to appreciate the sculptural quality of the bronze. Look closely and one can still observe a cross-hatched texture imparted by the hand of the artist. French pair of electrified girandole candelabra from the 19th century, made of pewter frames and dripping with crystals. The lamps are topped with stylized crystal “spikes” rising from hollow crystal forms that disguise the internal column. Cut crystal teardrops are suspended from three graduated tiers of arms, giving rise to four candle covers in floral boboches at the bottom tier using chandelier-base light bulbs. Domed bases are trimmed with a beaded edge for definition against the tabletop, and these would be a fabulous statement on a dining room buffet.
