French 18th Century Louis XV Parlor Suite
$9,800.0037"H x 65.88"W x 25.50"D
Dimensions: 37” H x 65 ⅞” W x 25 ½” D
French, 18th century Louis XV period seating ensemble to instantly transform a parlor or living room into a grand “salon” with seven pieces: one camelback sofa, three fauteuil armchairs, and three (armless) side chairs. Upholstery of cut velvet in pale green–like a white jade–has been brocaded with tonal damask patterns, harmonizing with the botanical theme in the caved frames, and outlined in brass nailhead trim. The giltwood frames have patinated over the centuries to reveal the deep red bole underneath, giving definition to the sinuous, rococo curves accented with floral and foliate carvings positioned at strategic points for maximum effect. The thoughtful proportions of the seat interior (balancing the heights and depths) are all quite comfortable, with dense stuffing of horse hair or other natural material that remains mostly firm and supportive underneath the tight upholstery. Please view the detailed images to see more of this fabulous set and get inspired. Sold as a complete set only.

Living Rooms Sets Designs and Styles That Speak to You
Living room sets come in many antique designs, ranging from Neoclassical and Victorian styles to 1950s and 1960s postmodern sets. For a more continental feel, explore French Empire, Louis XV, and Louis XVI living room sets.
Styles like American Regency emphasize using flat surfaces void of contoured or carved lines. This style also features classic themes like paw feet, rosettes, and lion masks.
The English Chippendale style also emphasizes ornate details, such as blending Gothic, Chinese, and Rococo designs. Homeowners may also choose more recent design options featuring minimalistic details that pair well with an already busy space.
How to Choose the Right Pieces for Your Living Room
Choose coffee tables with hand-carved embellishments or sofas and chairs with decorative and elegant patterns. Of course, you can pick sets that blend in well with the rest of the room—like tables with sensuous but neutral satinwood.
You can pick your decor with your living room’s existing ambiance in mind or find pieces that bring attention to themselves. Ottomans provide seating, footrests, and additional storage solutions, and poufs lend a Bohemian feel, perfect for eclectic living rooms.
