A luxurious vintage French table lamp from circa 1930, carved from figured green onyx as a Neoclassical column adorned with the requisite brass fittings at the capital and base. The striking vintage lampshade is a most unusual shape: its square profile is concave on the sides and chamfered on the corners that shows off the alternating velvet and dupioni silk materials. Gold galloon (or galon) trim defines the top and bottom edges, with thin gold cord draped between the corners from which a small gold tassel hangs. A statement piece for any collector to illuminate a desk or side table, symbolising the worldly taste of the period, merging Empire grandeur with Bohemian decadence. Professionally cleaned and rewired for US electrical using UL-listed components, adding a gold braided cord with in-line switch to control a medium-base bulb. French, vintage pair of table lamps made of solid, clear glass spheres stacked in a column. Below an egg-shape finial of solid glass, a new linen shade diffuses the light of a medium-base bulb (the on/off switch is on the socket). Using the natural transparency of the glass and curves of the orbs to softly illuminate any surface, the lamps are perfect for bedside and side tables, or a buffet. French vintage (early 20th century) Empire style cast brass table lamp with custom linen shade. This striking fixture contains a multitude of references across the Mediterranean world: a stylized female figure for a base dressed like a royal of ancient Egypt, elevating two Neoclassical arms ending in large urns parallel her head from which the faux candles rise, diffusing the light under a rectangular linen shade. The square pedestal is enhanced with a low-relief applique of a laurel wreath tied with a trailing bow. As a single lamp, this would work well in a variety of interiors and rooms such as for a desk lamp or on a side table to appreciate the sculptural quality of the figure. A pair of 20th century petite brass vases or candlesticks with Indonesian design motifs, that were adapted and electrified as custom table lamps. Their history is particularly evident in the depictions of traditional shadow puppet figures found throughout Bali and Java called wayang kulit in between the other rows of decorative symbolism. The patinated metal of brass alloy adds intrigue to the surface, defining the etched patterns with dark oxidation. Conical lampshades in ivory linen are and new braided cords are recent upgrades; the lamps have been professionally rewired to US electrical standards adding in-line switches to control candelabra-base lightbulbs. A vintage Couesnon brass trumpet made in France that has been upcycled into a one-of-a-kind table lamp. The horn shows signs of being a much loved and used musical instrument; the brass is darkened and dented with patina, adding further intrigue to the curious shape that is nearly unrecognizable out of context and inverted. French pair of electrified girandole candelabra from the 19th century, made of pewter frames and dripping with crystals. The lamps are topped with stylized crystal “spikes” rising from hollow crystal forms that disguise the internal column. Cut crystal teardrops are suspended from three graduated tiers of arms, giving rise to four candle covers in floral boboches at the bottom tier using chandelier-base light bulbs. Domed bases are trimmed with a beaded edge for definition against the tabletop, and these would be a fabulous statement on a dining room buffet.
