A wonderful repurposed–or upcycled–vintage wallpaper ink roller now a table lamp, topped with a new, conical shade in oyster gray linen to diffuse the light from a standard-base lightbulb. The wood cylinder is dotted by what remains of the floral and foliate brass stamp that would have printed a design onto paper, with other traces of the original illustration wrapping around the column. The lamp riser is an ebonized (painted) disc to not distract from the subtlety of the design. Cleaned and professionally rewired for US electrical using UL-listed parts including a new bronze-tone fabric cord, this table lamp is ready to illuminate your interior. French vintage (early 20th century) Empire style cast brass table lamp with custom linen shade. This striking fixture contains a multitude of references across the Mediterranean world: a stylized female figure for a base dressed like a royal of ancient Egypt, elevating two Neoclassical arms ending in large urns parallel her head from which the faux candles rise, diffusing the light under a rectangular linen shade. The square pedestal is enhanced with a low-relief applique of a laurel wreath tied with a trailing bow. As a single lamp, this would work well in a variety of interiors and rooms such as for a desk lamp or on a side table to appreciate the sculptural quality of the figure. French 19th century Empire style cast bronze table lamp with new linen shade, converted from gas to electric. This substantial Neoclassical fixture has a Greco-Roman female figure for a base, elevating a large urn above her head from which the socket rises, diffusing the light under a rectangular linen shade. The pedestal is ebonized wood with faint craquelure and some patina. As a single lamp, this would work well in a variety of interiors and rooms such as for a desk lamp or on a side table to appreciate the sculptural quality of the bronze. Look closely and one can still observe a cross-hatched texture imparted by the hand of the artist. A lovely French vintage lamp made from a molded, bronzed metal candlestick base featuring elegant Neoclassical motifs. The round base measures 5” diameter to fit on nearly any surface like a small bedside table. Champagne colored silk outlined in a braided trim covers the (more recent) shade which makes a sophisticated profile in flared bell shape.
