A gorgeous oak buffet à deux corps was hand built in the 1800’s from solid light oak. Simple in style this paneled buffet is unique and practical. The top half of the buffet is 51 ¼”D with two paneled door fronts and two interior fixed shelves measuring 13 ¼” deep.. The base is slightly deeper with three drawers and two paneled doors with a single interior fixed shelf, 12 ¼”deep. This buffet has interesting decorative pressed brass accents only found on one side. We’ve reworked the original spring locks with old forged iron keys. They are quite long and tend to sag. We recommend storing them in a drawer when not in use. 3 total keys are included with this piece. This buffett has been polished with a French paste wax and is ready for your immediate use. The interior is lined with honey colored contact paper in a set Provencal pattern featuring red accent flowers, most likely installed in the last 30 – 40 years, in good condition. French 19th Century Mahogany Empire Secrétaire à Abattant

A divine 19th century mahogany secrétaire à abattant from France, circa 1810. This desk has an exceptional black marble top resting above a single drawer disguised into the apron. Just underneath is another more visible top drawer with polished brass lion’s head pulls and striking brass shield escutcheons that feature paired griffons. These stylized escutcheons follow down to be found on the bottom drawers and one key is included for all five functioning locks. Under both top drawers the front of the desk folds forward to reveal a work area inset with vibrant orange leather elegantly detailed with gold tooling. The leather is in great antique condition making this a comfortable place to work. When open, you can see the theatre is equipped with five drawers with round brass sunburst pulls and a large open cubby partitioned with arches and columns with the center housing carved stairs that can be removed to reveal a private storage space. With the desk down the maximum depth is 22 ½”; the writing surface is 34 ¼” W x 30”H. This Empire-style secretary features eye-catching bookmatched mahogany and traditional neoclassical columns down each side with decorative brass capitals and bases. French Walnut Restauration Style Buffet à Deux Corps

The lower body is slightly deeper and has an interior cavity with a single fixed shelf that measures 21 ⅛” deep. These doors are secured with a magnetic latch. Both sets of doors have wonderful inlaid diamond pattern escutcheons. The apron houses three small drawers, the center one is petite and opens with a polished brass round pull centered in a lovely cartouche. The other two drawers slide easily and open with turned and trimmed wooden pulls. This is a handsome case antique that will provide bountiful storage and beauty to any room it graces. This large case piece features a set of three long double doors with original rolled glass panels fitted inside that open to four 17 ” D fixed shelves, plus three large double door cabinets in the base, each with one 17” D shelf and painted pulls on the doors. The bottom of the below cabinets measure 21” D. At the top is an outstanding stepped cornice with trimmed and paneled moldings over four splendidly carved columns that are fluted and with decorative neoclassical capitals and bases. Further columns of the same style follow down the solid oak double doors to the cabinet fronts and plinth. The sides include their own gorgeous original glass panels which offer additional angles to view books or other items on display. Displaying the original white paint with bits of wood showing through, this piece has an overall gorgeous surface that is well patinated and textured. This bibliotheque is in excellent antique condition. One key is present. This bookcase breaks down in three upper sections, has removable doors and shelves, and the base is one long piece. Just beneath this surface, three larger drawers are positioned above the large storage cavity which is enclosed behind the dresser’s paneled doors.
