This one of a kind armoire was custom made to showcase the fabulous pair of 19th century painted boiserie panels that now serve as the doors. Boiserie panels rose in popularity during the 18th century as a way to emulate the grandeur of the French nobility, but they also served many practical purposes like heat insulation and noise control. A marvelous, dawn- hued scene overlooking a vast countryside depicts a variety of avian species in the foreground. Antiqued brass hardware perfectly compliments the colorscape of the paintings. The left door features an interior hook to hold it closed while the right is secured with a strong magnetic door catch. The interior is painted a warm walnut color and easily houses 5 adjustable shelves with a depth of 14”. The exterior was painted to match the existing color of the door panels. This French 19th century commode features fantastic Empire style elements. Topped with a removable piece of black fossil marble that features a few worn nicks around its outer edge. All three bookmatched mahogany drawers feature matching cast brass ormolu escutcheons depicting a pair of griffins supporting a flowering vase. One key is included for all three functioning locks, which serves as the drawers’ pull. Tapered rectangular columns on each side showcase a detailed female bust on top and human feet at the bottom. The whole with cabochon, ribbon, geometric parqueterie, Greek key, laurel leaf wreath, musical instrument gilt brass motifs. Five shelves in the interior are removable/ adjustable. 1 shelf serves as the top to a single locking drawer. 2 keys are included- one for the exterior door, one for the interior drawer. Scandinavian 19th Century Satinwood Commode | Desk$5,995.00

A stunning Scandinavian commode with a fold-down secretary desk housed in its top drawer. The top is in great condition with miniscule visible wear. Although narrow, the apron features a pediment with an ebonized triangle to accentuate the shape. You can see the attention to detail when the top drawer front is opened to reveal the secretary work space, finished in bird’s eye maple. A pair of small brass buttons on the interior operates the top release. 13 drawers of varying size provide an abundance of organizational space. Diminutive ivory pulls are fixed to each drawer as well as a decorative gallery with ivory supports showcased in the center. A bank of three drawers with ebinozided receded diamonds with a key hole in the center. All four locks are functioning- one key is included. More recessed ebonized shapes flank the drawers and compliment the vibrant satinwood. When the desk is open the maximum depth is 31-¼” and the work surface is 33”H. The four arched glass front, locking and latching upper doors close before two saw-tooth adjustable shelves diverge in the center of the piece. This piece sits on a plinth base, flush to the ground. This piece is both rustic and refined. The vibrant pine has gained a wonderful patina over the years. A massive Dutch apothecary display case from a pharmacy. A large cornice with gorgeous acanthus leaf carvings draws the eyes up. Three molded, adjustable shelves compose the top portion while the bottom single shelf is fixed. Fantastic reeding and fluting details perfectly compliment the paneling on the sides. In wonderful antique condition with a gentle patina, there is plenty of space for books, art, and decor. This piece would have originally been built into the wall behind the pharmacist counter, evidence of which can still be found on the back. A beautiful vintage Louis XVI style wardrobe, made in France during the 20th century. This wonderful case antique is composed of two separate compartments that can be outfitted to suit the users needs. There are a total of four shelves and a shelf with a hanging bar inside that can be positioned to one’s liking using the bracket clip and rail system present in both interiors. These interiors can be secured using the doors’ functioning locks. Two keys present. The armoire has beautifully fluted, turreted corners, and a shaped cornice that accentuate this design feature. The book matched panel doors are trimmed in brass and separated by a fixed fluted center stile. The body is lifted on four turned and fluted feet, capped in brass sabots.

An impressive and substantial solid oak buffet a’ deux corps with Provincial charm from early 19th century France. This four door case antique is split into two bodies: a larger lower body and a smaller upper body. The upper is crowned with an impeccably carved cornice with accented, canted corners that fit the shaped body. Two doors can be used to access the upper interior. They are both hung on barrel hinges and contain functional locks. They conceal an interior outfitted with two fixed shelves that run the width of the upper body. Both the upper and lower bodies have exceptional carved panels that comprise the doors and large center stiles. The lower body has two separated interiors which are each equipped with a single fixed shelf. These too can be secured with their working locks. Four keys.
