The room divider or screen has a historically important purpose, creating individual spaces out of large ones and creating an intimate ambiance. From woven textiles you can see through to translucent Art Nouveau pieces all the way to heavy rosewood or even mirrored glass, room dividers make up one or more “walls” of a space, bringing new meaning and life to the objects and furniture already present.
Antique room dividers can be made of any material and in any size, as long as it provides its own base or is otherwise free-standing. Your imagination is the limit when it comes to antique screens, and Fireside Antiques is the place to find them.
Shopping Antique Room Dividers & Screens

You may find that as an object of beauty, they have several intentional and aesthetic purposes. At Fireside Antiques, we love it when things are both beautiful and useful, and nothing checks both of those boxes quite as dramatically as an antique screen. There is simply no other substitute for creating and defining entire spaces and doing it beautifully.
Don’t think of a room’s walls as the limit to your options; screens and room dividers can restructure a space however you would like.
Choosing Your Antique Room Dividers & Screens
