A pair of vintage, midcentury French brass and glass end/side tables in the style of legendary firm Maison Jansen that update Neoclassical elements for the modern interior. Referencing Jansen’s typical aesthetic codes of Hollywood Regency taste, the tables are designed as brass frames (that could pass for Louis XVI) holding transparent glass tops outlined by a mirror-finish border all enclosed by pierced brass trim on four slender legs. A curule-form stretcher is ornamented with a small finial for a historic touch. By their size and elegant appearance, these side tables will be an excellent decorative choice for any home from traditional (with a twist) to more eclectic. A small yet dramatic pair of French Empire inspired reproduction side tables. Nero Marquina black marble tops are ringed with bronze bezels, supported on blackened steel frames, each with three legs joined by crossed stretchers for a bold look from every angle. A sparkling Louis XVI style giltwood gueridon table from 19th century France. The inset white marble top is streaked with dramatic bronze and taupe veining, blending with the evidence of a professionally repaired and filled crack. The gold gilt and painted table frame is artfully carved with a ribbon twist motif around the apron and square rosettes above the legs. Four fluted legs taper elegantly down to a X-stretcher just above the feet, from which a urn finial rises to display a botanical arrangement inside. A wonderful birch side table from the 1800’s, the top features colorful marquetry & inlay designs of geometric patterns on either side of bird on a branch. The avian scene consists of many types of marble (like a pietra dura composition) complemented by satinwood and ebony. Ebonized banding follows the rectangular outline of the table and offers a sharp contrast to the luminosity of the birch, a theme common of Biedermeier style furnishings as well. Squared and tapered legs trimmed in thin strips of ebonized wood connect to a stretcher shelf ending on brass sabot feet. A petite Swedish Gustavian side table made during the mid 1800s which is light and highly portable to use throughout the home. This gueridon table has a modestly constructed circular top, painted in a rather naïve technique of blue streaks to suggest clouds on which a small pink bouquet of flowers appears to float. The simple pedestal column is washed in a blue-black pigment branching into delicately arched feet over the floor. Crafted in England during the 1880s this rectangular side table is topped with a beautiful piece of soapstone over a solid walnut base. The unique stone has a “sponge painted” artistic quality with random patches of mauve over pale pink, smooth to the touch. A wonderfully patinated apron is free of any drawers (to orient in any direction) and connects to square, slightly tapered legs by visible peg joinery. A slender, painted pedestal table from 19th century France. The square top surface measures 10”x10” and features a unique green and white inset marble outlined by lambs tongue carvings and foliate motifs that add a touch of antique craftsmanship. Tall legs with fluting reference the iconic Louis XVI style while the weathered cream-colored paint makes for a neutral frame to harmonize with many rooms and interior styles. A lower shelf provides additional display opportunity with a beaded trim and rosettes at the joinery. An outstanding French Empire-Style mahogany accent table with a unique basket wrapped around the pedestal.  A circular wood top with raised trim rests on an apron housing two small drawers with brass knobs.  The turned wood balustrade making the basket may have held knitting accoutrements, making this a lady’s working table.  Beautiful brass ormolu bands create a capital and base, finishing each end of the pedestal.  The whole rest on a concave, tripod base with unique bun feet.  See detailed pictures for condition.

This stunning English 18th Century Jacobean-Style trestled side table (circa 1780s) features a surface covered with a beautiful needlepoint tapestry in shades of red and gold on a black ground, which is attached to the table with brass nails. Having several typical characteristics of the Jacobean style, it is made of oak and features a paneled drawer with brass drop-pulls on each end as it was meant to be seen from both directions, as well as bulb-turned and trestled legs resting on ball feet.
