    This stately bonneterie was crafted in France during the 19th century from solid walnut. The bonneterie was created in the mid 18th century in France with the rise in popularity of large and often delicate hats and wigs and a new need for tall, slender storage options. Sharply paneled doors and sides give the piece an uncluttered, symmetrical look. Large iron barrel hinges support the heavy door. Three adjustable shelves are found inside. Door lock is functioning, including one key. Raised on simple block feet. Be sure to take a look at the detailed dimages. This bonnetier is solid and sturdy, it has the illusion of a lean due to its age and construction. Notice the distance from the bottom molding to the underside of the door on each side.

The whole with cabochon, ribbon, geometric parqueterie, Greek key, laurel leaf wreath, musical instrument gilt brass motifs. Five shelves in the interior are removable/ adjustable. 1 shelf serves as the top to a single locking drawer. 2 keys are included- one for the exterior door, one for the interior drawer.     A handsome sideboard from the 19th century crafted from a deeply toned mahogany. The top is shaped according to the bow front body and has very few signs of wear. The center drawer is flanked by doored storage compartments. The middle drawer features a pair of decorative drop ring pulls that coincide with the doors beside it. All three storage compartments feature a functioning lock- 3 keys are included. Supported by tapered square legs. Circa 1900.  Knee clearance height is 26″.     This striking little demilune chest features exceptional inlaid mahogany in varying varieties that have been thoughtfully book matched and placed about the chest to maximize the beauty expressed through its grain. Made in France in 1965, this vintage chest was created in the style of Louis XVI and underwent a refinishing in November of 2009. This restoration is documented in writing beneath the half moon piece of Breche d’Alep marble which tops the chest, along with the maker’s signature “Vecnissage par H.B.B Maco 1965”. Two shaped drawers are housed within the chest and bedecked with cast brass pulls and escutcheons. There are no keys present. Beautiful cast brass ormolu can also be found about the front feet, apron and flanking the bank of drawers.

    Display your treasured objects in this beautiful early 20th century French Empire style mahogany vitrine. Beveled glass panels can be found in the case antique’s door and sides, allowing one to view the contents placed inside on its two glass shelves. A mirrored back gives the illusion of a completely transparent cabinet. The vitrine has recently undergone a refinishing, giving the antique a ‘like new’ appearance. The wonderful brass hardware found at the capital and base of the pilaster columns which flank the door has been polished to a brilliant luster – along with the sabots that cap the front feet. Inside, two additional finished mahogany lower shelves can be used to house objects out of sight. The door can be locked using the original brass palm motif key included.

    This petite mahogany bedside table was crafted in France during the 19th century. A breakfront pierced brass gallery surrounds the antique white marble top. The marble is in excellent condition. Three drawers with thumbnail molding are fixed with small brass pulls and easily open. Rectangular, tapered legs with brass sabots support the whole.     This wonderful Empire mahogany commode was created in 19th century France. Topped with a removable piece of black fossil granite with rounded front corners. The apron houses a hidden drawer without hardware, it opens easily with groves hidden on the underside of the drawer. Three lower drawers each feature a pair of highly decorative cast brass pulls with a beautiful floral motif and simple brass inset keyholes. No key is present for this piece. Recently cleaned and polished with French wax paste; the bookmatched mahogany veneer has gained a warm patina. There is some minor wear to the drawer edges, adding to its antique charm.     This stunning vitrine is dripping with antique elegance and character! Made in the style of Louis XVI in France circa early 1900’s. The incredible bookmatched veneer has gained a vibrant patina over the last more than a century. Although petite, every inch of this display case piece has been thoughtfully constructed. The top of the piece showcases a combination of dark wood and fruitwood inlay and chamfered corners that continue down the body of the piece. Lustrous, wonderfully detailed ormolu adornes the cornice; classic egg and dart, whimsical acanthus vines, and organic floral twist. The large scrolling vine ormolu is inset into the wood on three sides and features a face surrounded by sun rays above the front doors. We love the flirty design around the wavy original glass and twisted acanthus ormoulo between the doors. The interior houses three adjustable shelves and provides the perfect way to display. Below the doors, a scalloped apron with a sizable piece of ormolu. Both of the sides are finished with fabulous inlay and bookmatching woodwork. The feet are fit with decorative brass sabots.     A statley 19th century mahogany secrétaire à abattant from France, circa 1810. This desk has an exceptional charcoal marble top resting above a single drawer disguised into the apron. Just below the top drawer, the front of the desk folds forward to reveal a work area inset with vibrant red leather detailed with gold tooling. The leather is in great antique condition making this a comfortable place to work. When open, you can see the theatre is equipped with five drawers and a large, arched top cubby flanked with column forms. With the desk down the maximum depth is 32”; the writing surface is 28-½” heigh. The desk front and lower doors each feature a decorative brass escutcheon depicting intersecting torches among floral garland forms; one key is included for all four functioning locks. A pair of simple, round brass pulls on each drawer allow easy access. This Empire-style secretary features eye-catching bookmatched mahogany and traditional Empire columns down each side with brass capitals and bases. There have been professional repairs made to the marble top which are nearly invisible to the eye, see detailed pictures for condition.

    A fabulous French mahogany commode from 19th century France, circa 1840’s. The stunning gray and white marble top with rounded front corners is in good antique condition with few signs of wear. The apron houses a hidden drawer, free of hardware. Making up the body of the piece, three larger drawers have more recently been fixed with a pair of laurel wreath cast brass drop ring pulls for easy accessibility to the drawers. Cleaned with French wax paste and easy to open- all three drawers are inset with brass trim encircling the unadorned key-holes. Every drawer features a working lock; one key is included. The bookmatched drawer fronts showcase the unique grain patterns of the mahogany. Over 150 years of everyday use have left signs of wear of the facade, giving it a wonderful patina.     A beautiful wardrobe, made in France at the turn of the 20th Century, in the style of Louis XVI. Painted in a neutral, taupe color, blue painted accents grace many trimmed surfaces and raised appliques. Intricately carved details have been incorporated into almost every facet of this painted case antique. The crown boasts egg and dart, carved tulip and sunflower motifs that are linked by arcaded beaded garlands. A long mirror – featuring its original beveled glass – has a shapley top and fronts a door that conceals a large storage cavity, equipped with four adjustable shelves. A decorative plaque can be found below showcasing a knotted ribbon and garland swag. This door can be secured thanks to a functional locking mechanism. To its right is a smaller, lockable compartment which is also outfitted with a single adjustable shelf. Its door has a beveled glass panel, with a shape matching the mirrored door, that is clear and currently outfitted with fabric curtains behind. Beneath is a large cubby set atop a bank of four narrow drawers. A wide, bottom drawer spans the width of the entire wardrobe and provides even more out-of-sight storage. The doors feature the original wavy glass and a functioning key and lock. Four adjustable shelves measuring 9” deep are housed inside. The whole is supported by carved bracket feet. Housing three shelves, the top two are removable and the third serves as the top for a pair of drawers.     This 19th century, Anglo-Indian solid teak trunk with original iron bindings has been gently sandblasted to give a driftwood, time-worn appearance.  It has a hinged top with two iron hasps that would have been pinned close with an iron or steel pin.  The whole is raised on four square feet.  This iron-bound box originates in the Northern Indian state Rajasthan, c. 1860.

    This nice Louis Philippe-style pine enfilade with canted corners, c. 1870, features a beautiful patinated finish highlighting the rustic charm of this piece.  The wood top sits above an apron with three drawers, each with a turned wood knob.  The body of this enfilade has three doors closing a storage space with a single fixed shelf.  The center door has a single key that works the latching mechanism and the two flanking doors have interior wood turn/toggle latches to keep them secure.  The whole rests on a plinth base.

In order to work for the woodworker, the apprentice would have to build a box, utilizing his best skills. The chest is oak and its hardware is brass. It has a unique crown-like trim around the top making this chest one-of-a-kind.

    This handsome Louis XIII-style armoire, c. 1820, is from France and features boldly-carved and beautifully grained oak with a deep and rich finish. The deeply-paneled doors bear hand-wrought steel barrel hinges and a single escutcheon, and open to reveal a single fixed lower shelf and ample space for a media center. At one point in this exuberant armoire’s 200-year lifetime, it survived a flood that is evidenced by a waterline 30″ above the bottom. There is very little difference in coloration, yet it could be start of many great conversations!

    This exceptional oak confiturier is from France, c. 1880, and displays a beautiful, rich patina. It features a single “X”-carved drawer with an oblong steel pull over a like-carved locking door with hand-cut steel escutcheon and steel barrel hinges, and opens to reveal a single removable shelf.  Storage pieces such as this confiturier were originally used to store jams and jellies, however, this cabinet would be very useful as a nightstand next to a tall bedstead. The original key is present.

    A stunning oak coffer from the early part of the 19th century, France. This wonderful trunk has a design reminiscent of Jacobean design, however is more recent. Beautiful moulded walnut trim frames the front and sides with other trim fashioned into geometric shapes. These lovely embellishments give this coffer a unique style that is all its own. It is lifted by four feet that have been styled in the same fashion as feet found on many Louis Philippe pieces. Patinated cut-steel escutcheons and drop bail handles can be found on the coffer’s front. The perfect blanket chest for the end of a bed. c.1830.

The white marble top is set into the cabinet and is in good antique condition with some minor staining. The entire cabinet is lifted on turned, turnip feet.

    This decorative coffer or chest is well made with layers of raised banding around the top and bottom and an interesting paneled diamond motif, giving this coffer an overall geometric design. Hand forged iron bail handles are on each side, and the whole piece sits on adorable turned ball feet. The interior is outfitted with a candle box for fast access at sundown. The back is plain.     French 19th century painted Louis XVI style counter top glass display cabinet. Two glass adjustable shelves and mirrored floor. Egg and dart molding around crown with pearl beading that frames each glass panel. Eight panels of glass total with interesting and intriguing corner arched glass panels.  Some restoration has been done on the top, base and door. The top actually lifted off the cabinet – it was a stacking process for display. Now the top is secure and a door was made for your convenience. Wonderful for displaying a special collection. Made around 1850.
