    A multipurpose Spanish fratino table from the 19th century in handsome oak construction with stretchers of wrought-iron for dining, as a center table, or writing desk. Thick top planks are in remarkable condition, smooth and clear to appreciate the grain patterns only interrupted by the tops of square peg joinery and a few honest repairs in the knots. An exquisite base made of splayed, carved lyre legs is bridged with sculptural wrought iron stretchers that bypass each other, swinging from the underside of the top planks to meet the opposite leg ending in a short scroll pinned with a bolt. Whether used as a dining table, work table or console, this Spanish refectory table will impart elegance and history to any room.     A mesmerizing, Spanish 19th century tooled leather folding screen–over six feet tall–embossed with floral & foliate motifs that cover the surface to expansive effect. The four connected panels are each crowned with a low arch, they feature overflowing garden urns with delicate blossoms accented in fine polychrome of blue and pink for depth against the dark leather, surrounded by dimensional Arabesque curls and geometric pattern. Canvas trim painted a glistening bronze–attached by a line of nailheads–surrounds each panel for additional contrast. Patina as expected from time and use with one puncture and general craquelure throughout.     This massive Spanish 19th century shop counter is over 14 feet long (14’-5 ¼”long). The top of this table is made of four wide plank solid walnut boards that boast incredible patina only possible with age. The painted table base has eight drawers all in varying sizes with metal bail pulls over five large bolster style legs turned on a lathe.   • Large Framed Painting “La Merienda” by A. Minguez

    “La Merienda” written at the bottom of this cartoon, refers to a light meal served between lunch and dinner. At the top is written “Goya”, which pertains to the known Spanish artist, one of the greatest Old Masters. In 1775 he was employed by the Royal Tapestry Factory in Madrid to design a series of tapestries that were in production for fifteen years. Signed at the bottom is “A. Minguez”, who is believed to be one of Goya’s students painting cartoons as tapestry models for the master. This cartoon has been recently framed and backed to support this 18th century work of art.
