Vintage Italian Veca Glass Pendant Light Fixture

A vintage midcentury modern glass pendant light fixture made in Italy by Veca, circa 1960. The styling and use of thick, blue-green glass recalls the work of their contemporaries at Fontana Arte, pioneers of designing with glass for lighting and furniture. In this example the frame is made from chromed steel branching to support three arms (holding two chandelier bulbs each) diffused in two layers of green, transparent glass: the outer “shield” is a flat, oval lens creating an optical illusion in front of the semicircular inner panes around the lamping.
