A 16th Century, or earlier, Audubon tapestry is vibrant and in wonderful antique condition. Its original border is completely intact and designed with florals, foliage, and birds. Tapestries were first created in the middle ages to hold in warm in otherwise cold stone buildings, over the years they have become practical traveling pieces of art and craftsmanship. Most tapestries tell religious, mythological or hunting stories. Depicted here, is a man who has been shot by a bow and arrow and is being consoled by a woman and his dog; an angel is also present, seemingly willing the man to hang on. Tapestry is lined. An impressive solid walnut dining table over 10’ long from the 1780’s Normandy, France. This dining table is versatile with two functional drop leaf ends. Recently polished with a French paste wax, this table has a stunning patina that you can’t help but admire. The dining table top consists of only two solid boards! Two drawers are found in the apron on the long sides. When the leaves are dropped the width is reduced to 87 ¾” long, knee space is 24”. Swedish 19th Century Painted Corner Cabinet

This handsome corner cabinet from 19th century Sweden is constructed with a characteristic neoclassical shape. The worn light blue paint is original to the piece and gives it a wonderful patina. A nicely carved cornice tops the whole, with capital-like details and canted corners. Fluting details flank the sides and center of the cabinets on the top and bottom portions. Both sets of cabinets lock and have an interior latch to secure the doors. The top features the same worn blue paint on the interior and shelves. The topmost shelf is uniquely shaped and carved, possibly for the purpose of storing tall candles. A shapley opening graces the midsection and adds a nice amount of detail. The bottom houses a single shelf, providing even more storage. Make sure to view the detailed images to get a closer look at this special piece.
