  • French 19th Century Copper Cooking Pot

    $1,250.00

    14"H x 21.63"W x 20.75"D

    Dimensions: 14” H x 21 ⅝” W x 20 ¾” D

A massive antique French copper cooking pot, from circa 1880. The interior has oxidized, developing a beautiful verdigris patina of soft turquoise which appears on the exterior in more random flecks and patches for textural variety within the dark metal. The riveted construction would have been necessary at the time and now lends a decorative/industrial detail. Look closely to appreciate the unique lugs joining the handle to the cauldron. Today the pot could be used for an attractive catchall around the home and hearth, as a planter, or displayed to admire this culinary relic–its aged finish will only improve with time. Dimensions with handle: 25” H x 21 ⅝” W x 20 ¾” D

  • French 19th Century Forged Iron Wine Carrier

    $845.00

    14.13"H x 8"W x 13.25"D

    Dimensions: 14 ⅛” H x 8” W x 13 ¼” D

A very rare, 19th century French hand-forged iron carrying case that can accommodate up to six bottles of champagne or wine. The openwork cage is essentially a rectangular block of thin iron strips welded together and a swing handle mounted on the top, with one door to load in the bottles then flip the latch. Note the peg to secure the lever has been lost at some point (though a new one could easily be added). Here is a conversation piece for a kitchen, home bar, or wine cellar. • French 20th Century Steel Frame Mirror

    $3,200.00

    43.25"H x 34.50"W x 2"D

    Dimensions: 43 ¼” H x 34 ½” W x 2” D

A rather unique French mirror from the early 20th century, made of a steel frame that is embossed with four-leaf clover icons and stylized flowers, mounted on a wooden casing like a window. Each corner is defined by angular flanges that extend beyond the frame, emphasizing the beveled slope leading inward toward the mirror plate. A line of circular, quatrefoil symbols dot the outer band of molding, impressed upon the metal to leave areas of oxidation that give definition to their shape. The (original) mirror glass appears frosted with foxing of craquelure texture and light oxidation. Shown in vertical orientation, symmetrical to mount in either direction.
