    An English Regency style convex mirror from the 19th century that would be right at home in the interior design tastes of today. Sometimes called a “butler’s mirror” that allowed the staff to monitor the progression of the dinner service at a comfortable distance, the convex mirror glass offers a clear reflection of any room, barely touched with dark foxing. The thick giltwood frame is all hand-carved with concentric rings enclosing a line of spherical knobs glistening like marquee lights under the gold. We believe this item to be in good antique condition considering its age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos.   • Dutch Painted Parcel Gilt Settee with New Upholstery

    A fantastic Dutch Regency style settee from the 19th century, recently updated with new upholstery to complement the painted frame with sections of parcel gilt trim. Wrapping the tight seat-back and wide bench seat is new upholstery of a soft, chenille texture printed with dense foliate imagery inspired by French Verdure tapestry. The cushions are held in place with brass hardware (knob latches) seen from the outside that lock the panels in place and can be easily removed for servicing or to change the upholstery. The cozy interior is outlined by the painted frame in a shade of green best described as “pistachio” enhanced with sections of parcel gilt. Four tapering legs carved in a faux bamboo silhouette (also ringed in gold) across the front and sabered legs across the back are sturdy on the floor. This multi-tiered shelving unit is organized into three distinct levels (surrounded on three sides by a low gallery), suspended on volute brackets mounted to pillars in the silhouette of Ionic columns. These elements of classical origin transition to any room or decorating style. Proportionately thick feet are raised on brass casters for easy mobility as needed.     An English 19th century campaign chest in the Regency taste with faux bamboo carving on the trim for an exotic touch as if brought back from one’s travels around the world. Wrapped in smooth mahogany grain, each drawer opens by large, turned wood knobs of ebonized effect, surrounded by the light-toned trim that is carved with intermittent nodes to appear as bamboo. Note the chest is made in two sections for easier transportation and relocation: the upper two rows of drawers are one unit and the lower two drawers plus the feet are a separate unit.     This large English convex mirror exudes elegance and style. The thick, gilded outer frame is enhanced by sumptuous carvings of acanthus, stationed at the four cardinal points, the pairs of unfurling leaves stretching in opposite directions. Separating the outer molding from the glass is a ring of ebonized, reeded molding. The original mirror plate exhibits a veil of foxing and crystals.   • Pair of 19th Century Wedgwood Pearlware Platters

    A rare pair of early 19th century Wedgwood pearlware platters made in England circa 1820. These splendid platters feature a rich lustrous cobalt trim on creamware with a blue underglaze that can be seen throughout, an alternating mix of white azalea shaped blossoms, and a stylized dynamic running spray of budding vines circling a cream center. This pair exhibits the exceptional quality and classic style embodied in antique Wedgwood pieces. Nice and clean and in very good antique condition with the expected minimal wear. These platters would be perfect for serving, as centerpieces, or for display in open shelving or on a wall.     This is a handsome English Regency style 18th century mahogany chest with a bow front that allows the beauty of the wood grain to be fully appreciated from every angle. It has a wonderful patina from years of loving care and use, fitting with any traditional or transitional interior design styles. The case is composed of four drawers with two round brass pulls on each drawer elevated on splayed legs. Note that locks are intact however no key is present. Circa 1790.
