This massive chandelier was recently made by the owners of this shop. We had over 40 years of antique chandelier crystals in a box and other found metal parts that all came together to create this playful and whimsical light fixture. Each crystal was hand selected and attached with twisted metal wire in a pattern. We used crystal bobeches below each faux wax candle cover. A 19th century French Beaux-Arts style brass and glass oil lamp chandelier with large aquamarine blue glass dome shade. Three scrolling cast brass arms with decorative finial centers descend from an ornate cast brass rosette and detailed cast brass crown. The arms follow down to a gracefully shaped brass acanthus leaves support that holds a densely embossed round brass suspension weight topped with a contemporary three light candle cluster that was recently wired. In the center is a gorgeous aquamarine hand-blown glass dome shade that pairs just wonderfully with the verdi-gris tones of the patina on the antique brass. Stunning in its neoclassical detailing, divine colors and gleaming finish, this Beaux-Arts beauty is an exquisite antique that will light up any room with style and elegance. This eye-catching chandelier was crafted in France in the early 1800’s during the 1st Empire period. Composed of a patinated bronze bowl with a cone-shaped neck. The bowl’s base is decorated on its underside with a brass artichoke drop finial and stylized palm motif. Its body is encircled by a gilt bronze band with a crashing wave design and supports ten gilt bronze arms with acanthus leaf details. Four chains are attached to the crown. Gorgeous scrolling folate designs and another drop finial continue to draw the eye up. Recently professionally rewired for the US using UL listed parts. An eye-catching eight light chandelier from 19th century France! A combination of blueish-green and gilt metal has patinated beautifully over the years.
