A venerable server with many stories to tell! Made in Spain circa 1620, this table is four-hundred years old. It was an antique long before the founding of the United States. It was two-hundred and fifty years old at the time of the Civil War. Generations have come and gone, however this beautiful (and apparently timeless) server persists. The top has been made using a single board that has patinated brilliantly over the centuries. Two large drawers inhabit the apron, with the right drawer containing a lock that amazingly still functions. The drawer fronts have been expertly carved, affording them beauty and distinction. Four candlestick/baluster-form turned legs lift the apron and top to a height of 33”. They are braced at their bottoms by stretchers that run both deep and wide. It is not very often that we come across antiques of this age in this condition, and this one takes our breath away each time we pass by it!
