This solid walnut wine tasting table, properly known as a vendange, was made in the late 19th century in France. The handmade solid oak construction bears the dark, textural grain patterns and patina developed over nearly two centuries of time & use. Forged iron pendant pulls dangling from the table apron guide the retractable wood rails that support the side planks (like leaves) unfolding from the table top, pivoting on hand-forged iron hinges that are thoughtfully shaped as a decorative feature beyond their function. A base of four, baluster-turned legs connected by flat stretchers in an H-formation anchors the table, giving it a sense of permanence and presence in any space. A round walnut drop leaf dining table, made in France circa 1850. The table is made of solid walnut with wonderfully expressed graining and boards which were book matched for continuity. With the leaves down, the table makes a wonderful console. There is a single drawer housed within the apron, accessed with a pull of its turned wooden knob. Metal rings can be pulled to extend the supports for the drop leaves. As an occasional table this piece would be ideally suited for smaller groups and would be perfect for a breakfast room. The long, linear legs are tapered and terminate at brass capped feet, equipped with casters. Cleaned, tightened, and polished with a French paste wax to be ready for your interior. An amazing solid walnut oval gateleg dining table from 19th century France. The beautiful walnut has an honest repair found in the top which gives the table a unique and one of a kind presence. These repairs not only give antiques points of interest, but also extend the life of the item, ensuring it can be passed down for generations to come. The top’s center was made from a single board. The leaves have some slight warping present, however the table is flat and comfortable to use. Two gate legs swing out to support the drop leaves. The legs are linear and tapered, capped in brass feet equipped with casters. This table has been tightened, cleaned and polished with a lacquered finish.
