French 19th Century Petite Burl Rosewood Restauration Console
Dimensions: 33 1/2″H x 24″W x 14″D
A stunning little marble-top console, Restauration period, France. The thick fossil-marble top is in wonderful antique condition, free from any noteworthy blemishes, and original to the console. The beautifully burled apron houses a drawer, facilitating some out-of-sight storage. The façade is finished with a book-matched rosewood veneer that continues around the sides of the apron. Two scrolled paw-footed legs support the front of the weighty top with two finished, linear legs behind. The legs all terminate at the concave plinth base, which has also been masterfully finished in burl rosewood veneer. c.1840.
