French 19th Century Walnut Louis Philippe Commode

Clean, straight lines are one of the signature features of the Louis Philippe style, and this exceptional walnut case piece from France is a wonderful example. This commode has a beautiful gray marble top that has front corners which are rounded, like the rounded corners found on the body below. Four drawers comprise the antique, with the topmost being hidden in the apron. The three larger drawers beneath all have working locks and keyholes ornamented with brass escutcheons. The commode’s facade is finished in book-matched walnut veneer. Turned bun feet lift the antique case piece.
