    This Louis Philippe vitrine was crafted in France during the 19th century from finley bookmatched mahogany. A brass border encompasses the large single pane of glass and faux panel below it. The interior is lined with a vibrant red linen blend fabric with a gold trim to give it a finished look. Three adjustable glass shelves provide a sophisticated way to display or store your favorite things. Below the main storage space are two drawers; one with Empire style hardware and one without. The larger, more obvious drawer is fixed with a pair of lion face drop ring pulls and a laurel escutcheon. The plain drawer is perfect for hiding valuables and provides a bit more storage space.     A large French solid oak paneled coffer. The front side has geometric inlay designs of ebonized wood, satinwood and hand forged nailheads over a playful scalloped apron. The hinged top opens to a large storage cavity with its classic candle box. A candle box is usually found inside at the top right of a trunk so you can easily find your candles after dark.     A unique walnut cabinet made in the Netherlands during the 1800’s. It has the clean lines of an English antique in the style of the French Empire and is made of solid burl walnut. A simple walnut top sits over a single drawer and door flanked by Empirical columns. A single working lock and key opens the door to reveal one fixed shelf at 12 ½”D.     This exceptional trunk was made in England, circa 1800. The antique coffer has an interior which has been lined with metal and would make a fantastic storage or blanket chest. The solid wood coffer features hand forged iron hardware that has been formed and styled to provide a decorative flourish to the utilitarian antique. Twisted iron bail handles provide grips to lift and transport the trunk as well as access its interior.

    A handsome sideboard from the 19th century crafted from a deeply toned mahogany. The top is shaped according to the bow front body and has very few signs of wear. The center drawer is flanked by doored storage compartments. The middle drawer features a pair of decorative drop ring pulls that coincide with the doors beside it. All three storage compartments feature a functioning lock- 3 keys are included. Supported by tapered square legs. Circa 1900.  Knee clearance height is 26″.     This exceptional oak confiturier is from France, c. 1880, and displays a beautiful, rich patina. It features a single “X”-carved drawer with an oblong steel pull over a like-carved locking door with hand-cut steel escutcheon and steel barrel hinges, and opens to reveal a single removable shelf.  Storage pieces such as this confiturier were originally used to store jams and jellies, however, this cabinet would be very useful as a nightstand next to a tall bedstead.     A stunning oak coffer from the early part of the 19th century, France. This wonderful trunk has a design reminiscent of Jacobean design, however is more recent. Beautiful moulded walnut trim frames the front and sides with other trim fashioned into geometric shapes. These lovely embellishments give this coffer a unique style that is all its own. It is lifted by four feet that have been styled in the same fashion as feet found on many Louis Philippe pieces. Patinated cut-steel escutcheons and drop bail handles can be found on the coffer’s front. The perfect blanket chest for the end of a bed. c.1830.

  • French Vintage Marble Top Demilune Chest

    This striking little demilune chest features exceptional inlaid mahogany in varying varieties that have been thoughtfully book matched and placed about the chest to maximize the beauty expressed through its grain. Made in France in 1965, this vintage chest was created in the style of Louis XVI and underwent a refinishing in November of 2009. This restoration is documented in writing beneath the half moon piece of Breche d’Alep marble which tops the chest, along with the maker’s signature “Vecnissage par H.B.B Maco 1965”. Two shaped drawers are housed within the chest and bedecked with cast brass pulls and escutcheons. There are no keys present. Beautiful cast brass ormolu can also be found about the front feet, apron and flanking the bank of drawers.
