    A 19th century French Empire mahogany semainier featuring artful neoclassical hardware. Hand-crafted in France circa 1810, this semainier is fitted with seven drawers to provide a drawer of clothing or lingerie for every day of the week. A beautiful piece of subtly veined white marble sits atop this case piece’s rectilinear designed architectural body inspired by ancient Greek and Roman concepts. The top hidden frieze drawer sits below bold molding and is adorned with a large and lustrous brass winged neo-classical figure in its center. Beneath and flanked by finely turned columns with etched brass capitals and bases are the remaining six drawers that open easily and have working locks. One key is present. Each of the six drawers has sizable floral and foliate escutcheons and cast brass drawer pulls that feature gorgeous relief florals and grapes. The solid body is finished out with a plinth base and sturdy turreted feet.     A statley 19th century mahogany secrétaire à abattant from France, circa 1810. This desk has an exceptional charcoal marble top resting above a single drawer disguised into the apron. Just below the top drawer, the front of the desk folds forward to reveal a work area inset with vibrant red leather detailed with gold tooling. The leather is in great antique condition making this a comfortable place to work. When open, you can see the theatre is equipped with five drawers and a large, arched top cubby flanked with column forms. With the desk down the maximum depth is 32”; the writing surface is 28-½” heigh. The desk front and lower doors each feature a decorative brass escutcheon depicting intersecting torches among floral garland forms; one key is included for all four functioning locks. A pair of simple, round brass pulls on each drawer allow easy access. This Empire-style secretary features eye-catching bookmatched mahogany and traditional Empire columns down each side with brass capitals and bases. There have been professional repairs made to the marble top which are nearly invisible to the eye, see detailed pictures for condition.

    A fabulous French mahogany commode from 19th century France, circa 1840’s. The stunning gray and white marble top with rounded front corners is in good antique condition with few signs of wear. The apron houses a hidden drawer, free of hardware. Making up the body of the piece, three larger drawers have more recently been fixed with a pair of laurel wreath cast brass drop ring pulls for easy accessibility to the drawers. Cleaned with French wax paste and easy to open- all three drawers are inset with brass trim encircling the unadorned key-holes. Every drawer features a working lock; one key is included.     A French Louis-Phillipe painted commode circa 1850 with faux marble top and four drawers. Created in France during the 19th century, this lovely commode features a very interesting and unique rectangular faux marble top with rounded corners, sitting above a perfectly organized facade. Four drawers, a narrow curving frieze drawer at the top followed by three larger ones, are each fitted with a simple brass oval shaped escutcheon. Two original keys are present. A small key opens the top drawer lock and a larger second key opens the other three drawers. The minimal hardware does not detract from the beautiful patina on this piece that still has its original paint. The commode is raised on block feet and has an unpainted paneled back. At one point in this exuberant armoire’s 200-year lifetime, it survived a flood that is evidenced by a waterline 30″ above the bottom.     This stately bonneterie was crafted in France during the 19th century from solid walnut. The bonneterie was created in the mid 18th century in France with the rise in popularity of large and often delicate hats and wigs and a new need for tall, slender storage options. Sharply paneled doors and sides give the piece an uncluttered, symmetrical look. Large iron barrel hinges support the heavy door. Three adjustable shelves are found inside. This bonnetier is solid and sturdy, it has the illusion of a lean due to its age and construction. Notice the distance from the bottom molding to the underside of the door on each side.

Painted in a neutral, taupe color, blue painted accents grace many trimmed surfaces and raised appliques. Intricately carved details have been incorporated into almost every facet of this painted case antique. The crown boasts egg and dart, carved tulip and sunflower motifs that are linked by arcaded beaded garlands. A long mirror – featuring its original beveled glass – has a shapley top and fronts a door that conceals a large storage cavity, equipped with four adjustable shelves. A decorative plaque can be found below showcasing a knotted ribbon and garland swag. This door can be secured thanks to a functional locking mechanism.     This stunning vitrine is dripping with antique elegance and character! Made in the style of Louis XVI in France circa early 1900’s. The incredible bookmatched veneer has gained a vibrant patina over the last more than a century. Although petite, every inch of this display case piece has been thoughtfully constructed. The top of the piece showcases a combination of dark wood and fruitwood inlay and chamfered corners that continue down the body of the piece. Lustrous, wonderfully detailed ormolu adornes the cornice; classic egg and dart, whimsical acanthus vines, and organic floral twist. The large scrolling vine ormolu is inset into the wood on three sides and features a face surrounded by sun rays above the front doors. We love the flirty design around the wavy original glass and twisted acanthus ormoulo between the doors. The interior houses three adjustable shelves and provides the perfect way to display.
