    A French Louis-Phillipe painted commode circa 1850 with faux marble top and four drawers. Created in France during the 19th century, this lovely commode features a very interesting and unique rectangular faux marble top with rounded corners, sitting above a perfectly organized facade. Four drawers, a narrow curving frieze drawer at the top followed by three larger ones, are each fitted with a simple brass oval shaped escutcheon. Two original keys are present. A small key opens the top drawer lock and a larger second key opens the other three drawers. The minimal hardware does not detract from the beautiful patina on this piece that still has its original paint. The commode is raised on block feet and has an unpainted paneled back.     A fabulous French mahogany commode from 19th century France, circa 1840’s. The stunning gray and white marble top with rounded front corners is in good antique condition with few signs of wear. The apron houses a hidden drawer, free of hardware. Making up the body of the piece, three larger drawers have more recently been fixed with a pair of laurel wreath cast brass drop ring pulls for easy accessibility to the drawers. Cleaned with French wax paste and easy to open- all three drawers are inset with brass trim encircling the unadorned key-holes. Every drawer features a working lock; one key is included. The bookmatched drawer fronts showcase the unique grain patterns of the mahogany. Over 150 years of everyday use have left signs of wear of the facade, giving it a wonderful patina.     A statley 19th century mahogany secrétaire à abattant from France, circa 1810. This desk has an exceptional charcoal marble top resting above a single drawer disguised into the apron. Just below the top drawer, the front of the desk folds forward to reveal a work area inset with vibrant red leather detailed with gold tooling. The leather is in great antique condition making this a comfortable place to work. When open, you can see the theatre is equipped with five drawers and a large, arched top cubby flanked with column forms. With the desk down the maximum depth is 32”; the writing surface is 28-½” heigh. The desk front and lower doors each feature a decorative brass escutcheon depicting intersecting torches among floral garland forms; one key is included for all four functioning locks. A pair of simple, round brass pulls on each drawer allow easy access. This Empire-style secretary features eye-catching bookmatched mahogany and traditional Empire columns down each side with brass capitals and bases. Hand-crafted in France circa 1810, this semainier is fitted with seven drawers to provide a drawer of clothing or lingerie for every day of the week. A beautiful piece of subtly veined white marble sits atop this case piece’s rectilinear designed architectural body inspired by ancient Greek and Roman concepts. The top hidden frieze drawer sits below bold molding and is adorned with a large and lustrous brass winged neo-classical figure in its center. Beneath and flanked by finely turned columns with etched brass capitals and bases are the remaining six drawers that open easily and have working locks. One key is present. A mirrored back gives the illusion of a completely transparent cabinet. The vitrine has recently undergone a refinishing, giving the antique a ‘like new’ appearance. The body is curved at the front with two paneled doors that open to an interior with an adjustable shelf that measures 21 ⅜” deep in the center and 28 ¾” wide. Scrolling brass shield escutcheons adorn the front and one key is present for the workable lock.     This 19th century, Anglo-Indian solid teak trunk with original iron bindings has aged beautifully.  It has a striking patina with fantastic texture and grain.  The hinged top has two forged iron hasps that would have been pinned close with an iron or steel pin.  When open, a single chain holds the lid, preventing it from falling back.  There is a single forged handle on either side of the box.  This iron-bound box originates in the Northern Indian state Rajasthan.

    A fabulous rouge marble top is the perfect top for this stunning transitional French mahogany enfilade. The mahogany case antique has a unique style of its own: incorporating elements of both Louis XVI and Directoire styles. Three drawers can be found in the apron, all with brass bail handles. They are positioned above two interior cavities which vary in size: a smaller to the right and a larger to the left. Both are concealed behind lockable doors. Two keys are included for all three working locks. The smaller compartment has three adjustable shelves. The larger has two adjustable shelves. All drawers and panel doors are trimmed in brass. The drawers are separated by fluted pilasters that run to the case antique’s skirt. The entire enfilade is lifted by six finished, tapered legs which are capped in brass feet.

The cornice has an impressively carved woven basket overflowing with flowers and pomegranates that serves as the nest for a pair of doves meant to represent the new couple. All of the lower doors unlock to reveal a removable, finished shelf.     A large pine shop counter, sourced from a store in France. The counter dates to 1870 and has had a long and lustrous career and is ready for retirement. The counter has clearly worn a few different coats of paint, with the most recent being a straw-colored yellow. Over time, these finishes have become worn, moreso in high-traffic areas, exposing the natural pine beneath. The countertop has a painted faux-marble top which has some losses. Behind the counter, you’ll find four drawers, the smallest having a working lock. One end of the counter has a hamper-style lid that can be lifted to access additional storage space. Today, the counter would make an exceptional bar for the style-conscious entertainer.
