A large pine shop counter, sourced from a store in France. The counter dates to 1870 and has had a long and lustrous career and is ready for retirement. The counter has clearly worn a few different coats of paint, with the most recent being a straw-colored yellow. Over time, these finishes have become worn, moreso in high-traffic areas, exposing the natural pine beneath. The countertop has a painted faux-marble top which has some losses. Behind the counter, you’ll find four drawers, the smallest having a working lock. One end of the counter has a hamper-style lid that can be lifted to access additional storage space. Today, the counter would make an exceptional bar for the style-conscious entertainer.

An absolutely stunning hand-carved, hand-pegged walnut armoire. A large Louis Philippe-style crown cornice sits just above a carved Directoire-style frieze. Two large, Louis XV-style shaped doors equipped with a working lock and latch are hung on barrel hinges. They are decorated with fabulously carved, shaped panels with a central fluted pilaster between. The interior is outfitted with four fixed shelves and measures 20-¼”D. The apron features a modest central circular cartouche with a floral center and a shaped edge with lines that continue onto the impressive escargot feet.

An impressive and substantial solid oak buffet a’ deux corps with Provincial charm from early 19th century France. This four door case antique is split into two bodies: a larger lower body and a smaller upper body. The upper is crowned with an impeccably carved cornice with accented, canted corners that fit the shaped body. Two doors can be used to access the upper interior. They are both hung on barrel hinges and contain functional locks. They conceal an interior outfitted with two fixed shelves that run the width of the upper body. Both the upper and lower bodies have exceptional carved panels that comprise the doors and large center stiles. The lower body has two separated interiors which are each equipped with a single fixed shelf. These too can be secured with their working locks. Four keys.

A French carved, solid walnut armoire built in the Louis XV period. A Chapeau de Gendarme cornice tops the body of the armoire. Two solid walnut doors have shapely carved panels creating a gorgeous façade with style-matching, recessed panels. The carvings on the exterior include a fleur de lis, star, and shell motifs, typical of rococo decoration. The doors are hung on large steel barrel hinges with long pierced steel escutcheon plates and open to a massive storage space with four fixed shelves measuring 17” deep. The sinuous lines of the scalloped apron continue to the antique’s carved escargot feet in classic Louis XV-style. A single key is present. This 18th Century, mixed wood French armoire is absolutely stunning. It is Gothic-style and features two tall, paneled doors on barrel hinges. One key operates the locking right door and acts as a pull. The left door latches from the inside to keep it in place when closed. This piece tells a story from inside the left door, as it has years of faded markings from growing children, some with dates and names. Just behind the doors are four fixed shelves. The crown and base of this armoire are oak while the body is fruitwood. The detail continues with three paneled sides, soft curved corners and two large bun feet on the front. Throughout its long life, the wood finish has acquired a patina that is simply amazing and has an undeniable antique quality. Impeccable craftsmanship and detail show with hand pegged joinery.

In 18th and 19th century Europe, sacristy or vestment cabinets were used to store liturgical garments, robes, wine and other articles associated primarily with the Christian religion. This superb and rare vestment cabinet made of solid oak is composed of 10 three foot drawers. These large drawers were used to store vestments from the priests. Each long drawer across the front has two pulls each and all drawers slide easily. The smaller faced drawers are the same depth as the longer ones. Beautifully figured with trim around the drawers and side panels that showcases the high quality craftsmanship of this historic church piece. Shield brass escutcheon plates adorn the keyholes, no keys included. Heavy, solid and sturdy with a beautiful rich oak patina this piece is raised on block feet to stand at counter height. In great antique condition- the original marble top with a modeled edge is shaped according to the body of the piece. Custom Armoire Made with 19th Century Painted Boiserie Doors

This one of a kind armoire was custom made to showcase the fabulous pair of 19th century painted boiserie panels that now serve as the doors. Boiserie panels rose in popularity during the 18th century as a way to emulate the grandeur of the French nobility, but they also served many practical purposes like heat insulation and noise control. A marvelous, dawn- hued scene overlooking a vast countryside depicts a variety of avian species in the foreground. Antiqued brass hardware perfectly compliments the colorscape of the paintings. The left door features an interior hook to hold it closed while the right is secured with a strong magnetic door catch. The interior is painted a warm walnut color and easily houses 5 adjustable shelves with a depth of 14”. The exterior was painted to match the existing color of the door panels. The whole is slightly raised on bracket feet and adds a nice shape to the overall body. This handsome corner cabinet from 19th century Sweden is constructed with a characteristic neoclassical shape. The worn light blue paint is original to the piece and gives it a wonderful patina. A nicely carved cornice tops the whole, with capital-like details and canted corners. Fluting details flank the sides and center of the cabinets on the top and bottom portions. Both sets of cabinets lock and have an interior latch to secure the doors. The top features the same worn blue paint on the interior and shelves. A collection of merchant painted counters from a 19th Century French pastry shop. This rare and outstanding group of counters would transform your everyday kitchen or shop. The shop counter is paneled on three sides with geometric motifs and the original layered and worn paint finish. The backside is open for storage with two drawers, one with fitted sections and a single shelf. The original white marble top hangs over its base making a durable and large work surface. There are two counters each with 9 drawers that were once built into the walls of the pastry shop. One chest is slightly larger than the other, clearly custom to the wall they were once attached to. Each chest has its original worn and layed paint finish and white marble top. All three counters pair very well together, and rest on a plinth painted platform.
