Flower carvings on the shaped back beautifully match those on the skirt and legs and there are wonderful paw carvings on the padded arms. The interior has five adjustable shelves and a small middle drawer with three partitions. The interior is lined with honey colored contact paper in a set Provencal pattern featuring red accent flowers, most likely installed in the last 30 – 40 years, in good condition. For light, they would use a bouillotte lamp. These silver plated lamps are beautiful showcasing a well patinated finish with touches of verdi gris. They also feature repeating neoclassical patterns, les perles, and 4 candelabra arms with faux wax candle covers. In the past as bouillotte candles would burn down one would use a key, where the shade connects the middle shaft, to lower the shade as the candles went down to allow the players to be free of glare. Recently rewired by a professional for the US using UL listed parts.
