French Antique Tapestry on New Custom Cushion

A recently made custom cushion (or large pillow) from an antique tapestry fragment of the Aubusson-Verdure tradition dating to 19th century France, depicting a peacock atop a traditional garden urn while a rooster and chicken observe the scene from below. This fabulous needlework–at an ambitious scale–is rendered in earthy shades of taupe and olive with foliate motifs in blues and greens, contrasted by intense red tones on the birds.
