    A fabulous French 19th century copper poissonniere or fish kettle. This long and extremely heavy rectangular pot was crafted of solid copper and retains its three large original handles attached with rivets and interior removable zinc grille liner. This substantial country essential was used for cooking fish on the open hearth and is in excellent condition with a rich, patinated finish. A sturdy, versatile, traditional piece that can still be used for cooking, or with its beautiful oblong shape, simply displayed.     This 19th century clock is stunning with its diamond-shaped rippling clock frame of ebony-painted wood. Mother-of-pearl floral and foliate designs are inlaid in differently stained mahogany and brilliant mother-of-pearl, surrounding the porcelain clock face in symmetrical form. Behind protective glass, the white porcelain face has beautiful hand-painted Roman numerals and floral design radiating from the pierced brass hands. Recently professionally cleaned and ready to be hung in your interior. The clock chimes on the hour, 5 minutes after the hour, and once on the half hour. For an additional $150.00 a quartz movement can be added to the clock to keep time without winding weekly. This clock has a very short pendulum swing and must be level.     A sizable antique copper pot, equipped with a forged iron handle that can be used to suspend the vessel over a fire. The pot has a hammered exterior that gives the antique a styled finish. The copper has patinated wonderfully, with some verdigris present. Although this interesting antique has a culinary purpose, it is not strictly relegated to the kitchen: it will make an excellent place to store firewood/kindling or use it as a cachepot for your favorite potted plant! The handles extend 4-⅞” out from each side. Circa 1840.

Genuine and rustic, this rectangular hollowed out, paddle shaped board was used for draining and separating the cheese and whey. Made of a solid plank of white pine. This board has a nice patina and is very tactile. In good antique condition with minimal wear. Inscribed into the wood on the reverse is the mark “D E L 1879” in fine script. Light in weight but sturdy and deep. This board would make a wonderful addition as a culinary antique or piece of folk art.     This stately 19th Century English porcelain meat platter features a scalloped rim, embossed deep draining channels, and is replete with basting well at one end. Raised upon integral feet to base. High gloss glaze overall with a decorative crane on the rim of the platter. On the reverse is the mark “Maple and Co. London” with imprinted numbering. Maple and Co. was one of the largest and most successful British furniture and decorative arts retailers in the late 19th Century. An additional imprint of a Caduceus, the registered trademark by Powell and Bishop, an English china and earthenware manufacturer (1876-1891) helps to date this piece to the Edwardian era. In excellent antique condition with minimal wear. This decorative serving plate of generous proportion is ready to display or serve today and will be enjoyed by many generations to come.     An interesting collection of fourteen 19th Century wax seals that retain much history. The collection is mounted on antique linen and framed in a single antique gilt frame.  Intaglios – ‘carving’ in Italian – were used to make wax seals or ‘signatures’ for correspondence letters.  Ideally, black seals were for mourning, while red seals represented love. Many of the seals have remnants of the envelope and some envelopes also have dates and signatures. This jar has an all over glaze and is covered with appealing hand painted designs and a wonderful patina.     A lovely glazed terra cotta cream bowl from 19th century France. This earthen bowl, also known as a pancheon, was used to stand milk while the cream separates. The cream is then poured off the top with the small spout found on the pot’s lip. This antique bowl is in excellent condition, with both handles intact. The interior has been glazed a beautiful ochre yellow. This glaze prevented the milk from being absorbed by the terra cotta. Today, this wonderful bowl would make a fantastic fruit bowl or decorative object about the house.
