Within the deep apron, each long side contains six drawers where the sisters would have kept their dinner service–which is a great feature to benefit the modern interior where storage is ideally out-of-sight but convenient to retrieve. Three pairs of legs hold up the mass of the table that are turned and tapered in a stack of rings. The lightly patinated stone surface rises along the back to form a low backsplash, finished by a narrow shelf above (4 ½” deep) that is supported on beautifully carved brackets to the left and right sides.
