A slender brass lamp base in a hand-rubbed antique finish rises to a small linen shade which diffuses the light from a dimmable and rechargeable LED bulb. Without the need for a permanent electrical cord, the lamp becomes portable to join a tablescape in lieu of candlesticks or placed as-needed around the home. This striking fixture contains a multitude of references across the Mediterranean world: a stylized female figure for a base dressed like a royal of ancient Egypt, elevating two Neoclassical arms ending in large urns parallel her head from which the faux candles rise, diffusing the light under a rectangular linen shade. The square pedestal is enhanced with a low-relief applique of a laurel wreath tied with a trailing bow. As a single lamp, this would work well in a variety of interiors and rooms such as for a desk lamp or on a side table to appreciate the sculptural quality of the figure. French 19th century Empire style cast bronze table lamp with new linen shade, converted from gas to electric. This substantial Neoclassical fixture has a Greco-Roman female figure for a base, elevating a large urn above her head from which the socket rises, diffusing the light under a rectangular linen shade. The pedestal is ebonized wood with faint craquelure and some patina. As a single lamp, this would work well in a variety of interiors and rooms such as for a desk lamp or on a side table to appreciate the sculptural quality of the bronze. Look closely and one can still observe a cross-hatched texture imparted by the hand of the artist. A darling, petite table lamp from late 19th century France rising from a brass, candlestick base of shepherd’s hook branches with crystal drops to scatter the light. The faux candle cover takes one, chandelier-base bulb and is diffused by a new, clip-on linen shade providing indirect, accent lighting in a living room or bedroom. French pair of electrified 19th century girandole candelabra made of pewter frames and dripping with crystals that would be a fabulous statement on a dining room buffet. The lamps are topped with stylized crystal “spikes” rising from hollow crystal forms that disguise the internal column. Cut crystal teardrops are suspended from three graduated tiers of arms, giving rise to four candle covers in floral boboche at the bottom tier using chandelier-base light bulbs. Domed bases are trimmed with a beaded edge for definition against the tabletop.
