French 19th Century Petite Oak Buffet
$2,995.0031.75"H x 31.50"W x 20"D
Dimensions: 31 ¾” H x 31 ½” W x 20” D
A charming 19th century solid oak petite buffet, exhibiting French Provincial flair and creativity which gives personality to the compact storage piece. The simple plank top glows from the warm tones one would expect of antique oak, blending with patina from two centuries of use imprinted upon the surface. Most notably, there are two drawers oriented perpendicular to each other: one opening from the left side and one on the front (above the right-side cabinet door) using plain, turned knobs. Two paneled doors carved to look like archways enclose the case below: the left door hooks onto the interior shelf and the right door is secured by lock & key. Inside is a stationary shelf, 16” deep. Thick posts as feet elevate the buffet from the floor. Navigating multiple design periods, the timeless style of this antique case piece would harmonize in a number of interior décor tastes. Make sure to view the detailed images to get a closer look at the great patina and wonderful craftsmanship. Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax, ready for your interior.
French Vintage Painted Enfilade
$6,500.0038.63"H x 83.75"W x 20"D
Dimensions: 38 ⅝“ H x 83 ¾” W x ” D
A French, early to mid-20th century four door enfilade transformed more recently with a painted, scraped blue finish applied by hand that beautifully contrasts the linear formality of the wide case. Ethereal layers of pigment suggest Gustavian and Provincial inspiration using a lightly patinated faux finishing effect to wash the wood in a dusty shade of blue. Four paneled doors enclose the unpainted interior, secured by magnetic catches and released by a gentle pull on the understated brass knobs. Note that the center doors open in tandem for easy access to the undivided cabinet with a single shelf (17 ½” D) spanning the width for abundant storage capacity to keep a living room or dining room organized. Cleaned and tightened, this buffet is ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images.
French 19th Century Louis Philippe Mahogany Enfilade
$9,500.0037.88"H x 89"W x 25.38"D
Dimensions: 37 ⅞” H x 89” W x 25 ⅜” D
This 19th century Louis Philippe enfilade prominently displays the naturally occurring flamed mahogany grain on the cabinet doors to animate the linear formality of the wide case, forgoing any superfluous decoration which might detract from the organic textures of the wood and marble top. The four-door case is topped with an exciting slab of Saint Anne marble in dark and mysterious vein patterns the stone is prized for. Note that a break toward the right side has been professionally repaired to blend the seam as much as possible. Storage options of the large case are arranged as three drawers across the frieze and four cabinet doors below representing three distinct compartments that will keep a dining room, living room, or foyer organized. The right drawer is thoughtfully divided into six sections for flatware or serving pieces, while the other two drawers remain open for adapting to one’s needs. Locks are intact but do not function, please use the included key as a pull. Below the wide drawer (at center) is the larger of the three cabinets, the two doors opening (and locking) together to reveal two shelves, 21” deep. Left and right compartments have a single shelf, 20 ½” deep. The whole rests on a plinth base which underscores the clean lines and sense of permanence that will make this sideboard a defining feature in any room. Cleaned, tightened, and refinished to maintain every gorgeous feature this buffet is ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images to see more. One key included.
French 19th Century Louis Philippe Mahogany Bibliotheque
$13,500.0096.63"H x 104.63"W x 18.75"D
Dimensions: 96 ⅝” H x 104 ⅝” W x 18 ¾” D
A capacious, 19th century French Louis Philippe style bibliothèque, handcrafted of mahogany with a row of four glass-front doors for displaying treasured books, heirlooms, and other collections in an office or library. The clean, linear quality and rather narrow depth allow this timeless design to fit any number of traditional and transitional decorating tastes. Behind the two pairs of locking doors are eight (8) interior shelves (7 ½” deep) which are adjustable on sawtooth brackets to easily reconfigure as needed. Note that the panes do not exhibit the bubbles and waves to confirm they are original, so are likely 20th century replacements. Below are a series of four, bookmatched doors enclosing the lower cabinet that follows the order of the upper body: each pair of doors work in tandem by a lock & key to enclose the (left and right) cabinets. Both compartments have a stationary shelf, approximately 15” deep. This striking storage piece has been cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to bring out the rich grain pattern and historic patina, ready for your interior. Please view the detailed images. Dimensions: 113” H x 62” W x 27”D
This French bibliotheque from the 19th century makes a dramatic statement for any interior with its height alone, and the ebonized finish on the exterior gives it the presence to anchor any kitchen, dining room, library, or office. Below an understated cornice, the soaring glass-front doors over the bookcase retain their original panes, providing visibility to regard the contents on four shelves, 15” deep. To contrast to the ebonized shelves, the panels on the back and sides are left their natural oak color allowing the warm glow of the wood to further illuminate the interior. The lower body–protruding slightly beyond the shelves like a “buffet a deux corps”–offers a pair of locking drawers and a paneled cabinet for (less visible) storage and organization, including a shelf, 21 ⅞” deep adjustable on sawtooth brackets. Cleaned, tightened and polished, this monumental storage piece is ready to astound in your interior. Please view the detailed images to see more. Two keys included.
